The 39th annual SCORE San Felipe 250, presented by King Shocks, takes over the desert south of San Felipe from March 25 through March 29, 2026, with 95 race teams registered across pro and sportsman classes in cars, trucks, UTVs, motorcycles, and quads. The 283-mile course loops through the punishing terrain of the San Felipe desert, crossing dry lake beds, silt-choked washes, and rocky canyon trails that have broken machines and made legends since the race’s founding in 1987.

Race week follows a structured schedule. Pre-running opens March 21, allowing teams to scout the course at reduced speeds. On-site registration for qualifying teams begins March 25, followed by qualifying runs on March 26. Tech inspection and the popular Contingency Day – where race vehicles parade through San Felipe’s malecón while fans inspect the machines up close – takes place March 27. The green flag drops March 28 for the main race, and the awards ceremony wraps up the event on March 29.

Spectator Guide

San Felipe fills to capacity during SCORE week, so booking accommodations early is essential. Hotels along the malecón and Avenida Mar de Cortes typically sell out weeks in advance, though vacation rental properties south of town along the Puertecitos road often have availability. The best spectator viewing points are at the race start/finish line near the San Felipe arches, at the dry lake bed crossings roughly 30 miles south of town where vehicles hit top speed, and at the rocky canyon sections where technical driving separates the leaders from the pack. Spectators should bring plenty of water, sun protection, and a charged radio scanner to follow race communications. The full entry list and real-time race tracking are available at score-international.com, and SCORE streams live coverage of the race on its website. For those driving down from the U.S., San Felipe is approximately 120 miles south of the Mexicali East border crossing via Mexico Highway 5.
