The Baja California Fiscalía General del Estado (FGE), the state attorney general’s office, is asking for the public’s help locating a 42-year-old man who disappeared in Ensenada four days ago.
Obed Benítez Quiñonez was last seen on April 25, 2026, in the Lázaro Cárdenas neighborhood, a densely populated area on Ensenada’s east side along the main commercial corridor of Avenida Reforma. Authorities have not disclosed the circumstances of his disappearance.
Description of the Missing Man
Benítez Quiñonez is described as 5 feet 5 inches tall, approximately 154 pounds, with a slim build, light brown skin, and black hair. He has a tattoo on his upper left chest that reads “Valeria.”
When last seen, he was wearing a blue polo shirt, brown-and-gray shorts, and black sneakers. The FGE released a photograph of Benítez Quiñonez along with the missing person alert.
Recent Disappearances in the Same Area
The case comes just days after another missing person report from the same part of Ensenada. On April 22, José Eduardo Ramírez Santos also disappeared in the Lázaro Cárdenas II neighborhood, according to a separate FGE alert. The area has also seen recent violence: on April 24, a security agent was shot and killed on Avenida Lázaro Cárdenas at the intersection with Calle Horticultores.
The Lázaro Cárdenas corridor sits east of downtown Ensenada and runs roughly parallel to the toll road that connects the city to Tijuana, about 70 miles to the north. The neighborhood is home to a mix of residential blocks, small businesses, and industrial sites.
