The Los Cabos municipal government is offering free spaying and neutering for dogs and cats in Cabo San Lucas on March 16, 17, and 20. The clinic runs in the Colonia 4 de Marzo neighborhood, starting at 8 a.m. each day.

Pet owners must schedule an appointment in advance via WhatsApp at (624) 132-1454. The municipality says pre-booking helps manage supply and reduce wait times on clinic days.

Before surgery, animals must fast for eight hours, including no water. Female dogs and cats cannot be in heat, pregnant, or nursing at the time of the procedure. The municipal health institute, which runs the program, will prioritize neighborhoods with the highest demand for services.

The Los Cabos municipal government runs these clinics through its Instituto Municipal de Salud, the city’s public health agency. The goal is to reduce the stray animal population, limit public health risks, and encourage responsible pet ownership across the region.

If you own a dog or cat in the Cabo San Lucas area, this is a no-cost option for a procedure that typically runs several hundred pesos at a private clinic. Timing matters: the three-day window closes March 20, and appointments are required, so contact the WhatsApp line before then to confirm your slot.
