Promociones León will stage a World Boxing Council (WBC) championship card at Arena Tecate in Tijuana on April 18, with multiple WBC titles on the line across several bouts.

The main event pits undefeated Tijuana fighter Carlos “Burrito” García (21-0-0, 14 KOs) against Mexicali’s Roy “Pato” Villegas (10-2-2) for the Fecombox National Youth Super Welterweight title. The all-Baja California matchup gives the card a local rivalry feel, with both fighters representing opposite ends of the state.

Unbeaten Record on the Line

García enters the fight with a perfect professional record and 14 knockouts in 21 wins. The Tijuana native will be fighting in front of a hometown crowd as he chases his first national title. Villegas, based in Mexicali, brings a 10-2-2 record and will look to play spoiler on enemy turf.

The Fecombox title is a WBC regional belt that often serves as a stepping stone toward higher-ranked WBC championship bouts. A strong showing from either fighter could open doors to bigger opportunities on the national and international stage.

Arena Tecate: Tijuana’s Combat Sports Venue

Arena Tecate is a dedicated combat sports venue in Tijuana with a capacity of just over 650 seats. The arena hosts professional boxing, mixed martial arts, and lucha libre events on a regular basis, typically staging at least one boxing card per month. The intimate setting puts fans close to the action.

The venue sits in Tijuana and is reachable from both the San Ysidro border crossing and from Ensenada along the toll road. For those who cannot attend in person, Baja Boxing has previously livestreamed events from the arena on YouTube.

The April 18 card is expected to feature several undercard bouts with additional WBC-sanctioned titles, though the full lineup has not yet been announced. Promociones León, the event promoter, has organized previous multi-title cards at the same venue.
