The 11th edition of the Yo También Corro en Tijuana 10K race will take place on Sunday, June 28, with start and finish lines at Plaza Galerías Hipódromo. Organizers expect more than 2,000 runners for the World Athletics-certified course, one of the most established running events on the city’s sports calendar.

This year’s Tijuana 10K race carries special significance. The event coincides with the 100th anniversary of Pasteurizadora Jersey del Noroeste, one of the oldest companies in the Baja California region and a major sponsor. Organizers announced the race at a June 4 press conference attended by representatives from Galerías Hipódromo, Jersey del Noroeste, Fundación Mi Chante, Symmetry Gym, and the Tijuana Municipal Athletics League.

World Athletics Certification Draws Competitive Runners

The certified 10-kilometer course allows competitive runners to log official times recognized by World Athletics, the sport’s global governing body. That distinction sets it apart from most local fun runs and attracts serious athletes from across Mexico.

Rubén Razo, president of the Liga Municipal de Atletismo de Tijuana, was among those at the press conference. Organizers also plan to recruit elite runners from other parts of the country with support from Fundación Mi Chante, a local charitable organization.

Course Details and Logistics

Plaza Galerías Hipódromo, a large shopping center on Boulevard Agua Caliente in the Hipódromo neighborhood, serves as the race’s hub. The location sits near the Agua Caliente racetrack district, a well-known area for residents and visitors crossing from San Diego. Hydration stations along the course will be staffed by sponsors and local athletic clubs.

The Yo También Corro race has been a fixture in Tijuana since its first edition, growing each year. Past events have consistently used the Galerías Hipódromo starting point, making the venue familiar to returning participants.

Kenia Lizeth Burgos, public relations and marketing manager for Galerías Hipódromo, and Ernesto Ponce, general director of Pasteurizadora Jersey del Noroeste, both participated in the official announcement. Registration details are available through the race’s social media pages. The event was first reported by Zeta Tijuana.
