The Baja California Sur Attorney General’s Office (PGJE) will host its second annual “Vida Libre de Violencia” 5K fun run in La Paz on Sunday, July 12. The race begins at 7 a.m. from the Women’s Justice Center (CJM) on the corner of Carabineros and Colosio streets, near the downtown area.
Proceeds from the event will fund programs that protect and support women and children facing domestic violence. The Women’s Justice Center, which serves as the starting point, is one of the PGJE’s specialized units focused on gender-based violence prevention and victim assistance in Baja California Sur.
Registration Details and Cost

The 5K course is open to all fitness levels. Participants can run, jog, or walk the route. The event wraps up with a prize raffle for registered participants.
How to Get There
The starting point at Carabineros and Colosio streets sits close to La Paz’s central corridor, making it easy to reach from most parts of the city. Colosio is one of the main avenues running through the southern portion of downtown La Paz, connecting several residential neighborhoods to the commercial center.
This is the second year the PGJE has organized the race. The “Vida Libre de Violencia” name, which translates to “Life Free of Violence,” echoes Mexico’s General Law on Women’s Access to a Life Free of Violence, a federal statute that established frameworks for preventing and addressing gender-based violence across the country.
Early morning start times are standard for summer races in La Paz, where July temperatures regularly exceed 35°C (95°F) by mid-morning. Runners should plan to arrive well before the 7 a.m. start and bring water.
