He is the son of legendary Mexican actress Ofelia Guilmáin and the brother of actresses Lucía and Esther Guilmáin. His career began in 1965 with a role in the film “Tajimara,” and he went on to star in more than 25 films, including Alejandro Jodorowsky’s surrealist classic “The Holy Mountain” (1973).

For decades, Ferrara was a fixture on Mexican television through telenovelas such as “Destino” (1989), “La Fuerza del Destino” (2011), and “Qué Bonito Amor” (2012-2013). He reportedly announced his retirement from acting in 2024, making this touring stage production a notable event for fans.
