Authorities declared the surrounding area safe after completing their initial assessment. The cause of the explosion remains unknown, and officials said the relevant agencies will investigate the circumstances of the incident.

Temporary Access Restrictions Near Blast Site

Santa Rosa is a residential neighborhood on the north side of San José del Cabo, away from the tourist corridor and downtown areas. Residents near the intersection of Chanes Chávez and Mauricio Castro streets should expect temporary road closures while a forensic assessment continues.

Gas leaks are a common cause of residential explosions in Mexican neighborhoods where homes rely on stationary LP gas tanks, though authorities have not confirmed or ruled out any specific cause in this case. The investigation is ongoing.

The incident was first reported by the Los Cabos municipal government (loscabos.gob.mx) and confirmed by Tribuna de México.
