Disappearances a Growing Concern in San Quintín

The case comes during a period of heightened security concerns in the San Quintín municipality. In early April, the FGE conducted a search operation at a home in the nearby Colonia Graciano Sánchez, where investigators found a body inside a container in the backyard along with evidence of a .223-caliber shell casing. That operation took place on April 8.

In August 2025, the FGE also recovered human skeletal remains during a search operation between the Lázaro Cárdenas landfill and Colonia Francisco Villa in San Quintín. The remains appeared to belong to a single individual.

San Quintín sits along the Transpeninsular Highway (Highway 1) roughly 300 kilometers south of Ensenada. The agricultural region is home to a large population of migrant farmworkers, and its remote location can complicate search and rescue operations. Community tips are often essential to resolving missing persons cases in the area.

Colonia López Mateos is one of several residential neighborhoods on the outskirts of the San Quintín valley. The area sees regular traffic from travelers heading south toward Guerrero Negro and the Baja California Sur border.

The FGE has not publicly stated whether it suspects foul play in Galindo Alejandro’s disappearance. The investigation remains open. This report is based on information published by Ensenada.net.
