The Baja California State Attorney General’s Office (FGE) is asking the public for help locating José Eduardo Ramírez Santos, a 20-year-old Ensenada resident who has been missing since April 22, 2026. He was last seen in the Colonia Lázaro Cárdenas II neighborhood on the city’s east side.
Ramírez Santos is described as 5 feet 7 inches tall (1.72 meters) with a slim build, light brown skin, straight dark hair, and dark brown eyes. He has a distinguishing mole on his left cheek.
What He Was Wearing When Last Seen
When he disappeared, Ramírez Santos was wearing a black turtleneck hoodie, dark blue jeans, white-and-blue sneakers, and a gray cap with an “LA” logo. The FGE released a photograph along with the physical description to aid in identification.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about his whereabouts to contact the FGE’s Missing Persons Search Unit (Unidad de Búsqueda de Personas Desaparecidas). Tips can be submitted directly to the unit, which handles active disappearance cases across the state.
Ongoing Pattern of Disappearances in Ensenada
The case is one of several active missing persons investigations in the Ensenada area. Baja California has faced persistent challenges with disappearances in recent years, and the FGE regularly issues public bulletins seeking community assistance. The Colonia Lázaro Cárdenas II neighborhood, located in the eastern part of Ensenada, is a residential area that sits inland from the city’s tourist corridor along the coast.
Ensenada, a port city of roughly 500,000 people located about 80 miles south of the U.S. border at Tijuana, is home to a large expat community and draws visitors year-round. The city’s missing persons cases have drawn increased public attention following high-profile disappearances in the broader municipality in recent years.
Anyone living in or traveling through the Ensenada area who recognizes Ramírez Santos or has information about his disappearance should contact local authorities immediately. The FGE can be reached through its offices in Ensenada or via the state’s emergency reporting channels.
