Baja California state police arrested a 27-year-old man wanted for aggravated homicide during a patrol in Tijuana’s Mariano Matamoros neighborhood on the evening of June 2. Officers from the Fuerza Estatal de Seguridad Ciudadana (FESC), the state’s primary police force, detained Alan Bladimir after he displayed evasive behavior near their units at approximately 7:40 p.m.

A real-time check with the C-5 command center, which coordinates surveillance and emergency communications across Baja California, confirmed that Alan Bladimir had an active arrest warrant for aggravated homicide. The warrant was issued in December 2025 under court file 102004202514372. Officers found no weapons or illicit items on him at the time of detention.

Suspect Tied to Criminal Organization

Authorities said the suspect has alleged ties to a criminal organization responsible for generating violence in the Tijuana area. Investigators believe he was involved in hitman activity, though officials did not specify how many killings he may be connected to.

According to a report from Mexicanist, the suspect allegedly charged 20,000 pesos (roughly $1,200 USD) per hit. That price point places him at the lower end of Tijuana’s contract killing market, where cartel foot soldiers carry out assassinations tied to ongoing territorial disputes over the fentanyl and methamphetamine trade into the United States.

Tijuana’s Ongoing Violence

Tijuana has ranked among the most violent cities in the Western Hemisphere for several consecutive years. Rival cartels continue to fight for control of drug trafficking corridors into Southern California, fueling a steady stream of homicides. Baja California has deployed thousands of state and federal officers to the city, but the root causes of violence, including drug demand north of the border, weapon availability, and cartel recruitment from impoverished neighborhoods, remain deeply entrenched.

The FESC’s ability to cross-reference warrant databases in real time during routine street patrols has become a key enforcement tool. A similar arrest occurred in October 2023, when FESC officers stopped a suspected cartel-linked killer on the Tijuana-Rosarito freeway after noticing suspicious behavior.

Suspect Transferred to State Prosecutors

Alan Bladimir was transferred to the Baja California Attorney General’s Office (FGE) through its Apprehensions Unit for further legal proceedings. No additional details about the specific homicide case have been released.
