The Fiscalía General del Estado de Baja California (FGE), the state attorney general’s office, is asking the public for help locating a 24-year-old man who disappeared on the night of April 29 in Camalú, a small agricultural town in the San Quintín area south of Ensenada.
Ángel Luis Ramos López was last seen in the Martínez neighborhood of Camalú. He has not been heard from since that night, and authorities have released a detailed physical description to aid the search.
Physical Description and Identifying Marks
Ramos López is described as having a medium build, light brown complexion, and short straight black hair in a military-style cut. He has medium almond-shaped light brown eyes and a medium nose and lips.
Several distinguishing marks may help identify him. He has scars on his head from previous injuries, a tribal tattoo covering his left arm from shoulder to elbow, the word “Ángel” tattooed on his right arm, and a skull tattoo on his right hand.
Camalú and the San Quintín Corridor
Camalú sits along the Transpeninsular Highway (Highway 1) roughly 280 kilometers (174 miles) south of the U.S. border and about 190 kilometers (118 miles) south of Ensenada. The town is part of the broader San Quintín valley, a major agricultural region that draws thousands of migrant farmworkers from southern Mexico.
The stretch of Highway 1 between Ensenada and San Quintín is well traveled by tourists heading to points south, including Bahía de los Ángeles and the Baja ferry crossing at Guerrero Negro. The corridor has drawn attention in recent years over safety concerns, particularly after the high-profile disappearance and murder of two Australian surfers and an American near Santo Tomás in 2024.
How to Report Information
Anyone with information about Ramos López’s whereabouts is urged to contact the FGE. Tips can be submitted through the Baja California attorney general’s office or local law enforcement in the San Quintín delegation.
