The Baja California Sur National Employment Service (SNE-BCS) will hold two job fairs in the northern peninsula this week, offering more than 150 vacancies across both events. The back-to-back fairs target Santa Rosalía on Wednesday, April 15, and Loreto on Thursday, April 16.

The Santa Rosalía fair takes place at the Salón Mutualista Progreso on Avenida Álvaro Obregón in the Centro neighborhood. Hours run from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. The following day, the Loreto fair opens at Parque Ballenas in Colonia Miramar from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Over 150 Vacancies From Private Employers

Private companies at both events will list the open positions. Public institutions will also staff booths offering free information on government programs and services. The SNE-BCS has organized similar events in the Mulegé municipality before, including a November round that brought fairs to Mulegé town, Santa Rosalía, and Loreto with more than 100 vacancies each.

Both fairs fall under the state’s “Échale Montón” initiative, a formal employment program aimed at reducing informal labor and connecting job seekers with registered employers. The program has been active across Baja California Sur’s five municipalities throughout 2024 and into 2025.

What to Know Before You Go

Santa Rosalía sits about 360 miles north of La Paz along the Transpeninsular Highway (Highway 1). Loreto is roughly 220 miles north of the state capital. Both towns are small, so the venues are easy to find.

Job seekers should bring identification and any relevant work documents. For those who want details before the events, the SNE-BCS operates a WhatsApp information line called ChambaChat at 612-214-9459.

The fairs are primarily geared toward Mexican nationals seeking formal employment. Expats holding valid work authorization (a visa with a CURP and RFC) could attend, though most listed positions will likely be local service and trade roles.

Event details were first reported by the Baja California Sur state government at bcs.gob.mx.
