Staff at Ensenada’s Hospital General are asking the public for help locating the family of Alberto Agustín Pérez Rodríguez, a 39-year-old man who has been hospitalized in critical condition since April 9. No relatives have contacted the hospital or been identified since his admission.

Hospital workers believe Pérez Rodríguez’s family may live in Colonia Morelos, a residential neighborhood in central Ensenada. Despite repeated efforts, staff have been unable to establish contact with anyone connected to the patient.

How to Contact the Hospital

Anyone with information about Pérez Rodríguez or his family can call the Hospital General de Ensenada at 646-176-7600 or 646-176-7800. Callers should request extension 3420 or 3514 to reach the department handling the case.

Hospital General is Ensenada’s main public hospital, operated by the state health system. It serves as the primary safety-net facility for patients without private insurance in the city of roughly 600,000 people.

Not the First Such Appeal

This is not the first time Ensenada’s Hospital General has issued a public plea to find a patient’s family. In September 2024, the hospital made a similar request for Erick Alcaraz Martínez, 34, who was brought in by a Cruz Roja (Red Cross) ambulance after suffering an epileptic episode on the street. Alcaraz Martínez told staff at the time that he had no relatives in Ensenada and that his family lived in Michoacán.

Cases like these are a reminder for anyone living in or visiting Baja California to carry emergency contact information at all times. A simple card in a wallet, listing a contact name, phone number, and any relevant medical conditions, can make a significant difference if you are hospitalized and unable to communicate.
