La Paz’s municipal government expanded its free psychological services program for young people, adding Todos Santos and five urban neighborhoods as service locations for residents ages 12 to 29.
The program, called Curadamente–Salud Joven, now operates in six locations: the colonias of Santa Fe, El Conchalito, 8 de Octubre, Vicente Guerrero, and Arcoíris 3 within the city, plus the newly added site in Todos Santos, a small coastal town about 50 miles north of Cabo San Lucas. The expansion marks the program’s fifth year of operation.
Municipal officials said the initiative focuses on preventing depression, anxiety, and self-harm among adolescents and young adults. The addition of Todos Santos extends coverage beyond La Paz’s urban core into surrounding rural communities for the first time, according to a statement on the city government’s official news site.
Appointments can be scheduled through WhatsApp by contacting the La Paz municipal government’s social media channels. The service is free and open to any resident in the eligible age range. No citizenship requirement was mentioned in the city’s announcement.
For English-speaking families in La Paz, the program offers an alternative to private therapy, which typically runs 500 to 1,000 pesos ($28 to $56 USD) per session in the city. Sessions are conducted in Spanish. Parents or guardians seeking services for minors should contact the municipality directly for intake procedures.
