The fourth annual Rosarito Winefest 2026 will take over the Rosarito Convention Center on July 11, bringing 25 Guadalupe Valley wineries and 25 regional chefs to a single oceanfront venue. Organized by Rotary Club Rosarito, the event has outgrown its former home at CEART, the city’s municipal arts center, and the move to the larger Convention Center gardens marks a turning point for a festival that started small in 2023.

Valle de Guadalupe’s Wine Industry Now Extends Beyond the Valley

The Valle de Guadalupe, a narrow valley about 30 kilometers northeast of Ensenada, produces roughly 90% of Mexico’s wine. Two decades ago, the region held fewer than 20 wineries. Today it is home to more than 150, according to the Baja California wine growers’ association. Annual production across the state now exceeds 1.5 million cases, and the valley has become a destination in its own right, drawing an estimated 800,000 visitors per year.

That growth has pushed the valley’s wineries to seek audiences beyond their tasting rooms. Wine festivals in Tijuana, Ensenada, and now Rosarito have multiplied over the past five years. The Rosarito Winefest fits this pattern: 25 wineries are making the roughly two-hour drive north from the valley to pour for a coastal crowd that includes a large English-speaking population. Rosarito’s foreign-born resident community, concentrated along the beachfront corridor between the town center and Puerto Nuevo, numbers in the thousands.

The Valle de Guadalupe harvest season typically runs from August through October. A July tasting event gives wineries a chance to showcase current releases just before the new harvest begins. Many of the valley’s boutique producers make fewer than 2,000 cases per vintage, so festivals like this one offer rare access to labels that rarely appear on store shelves north of the border.

Larger Venue, Same Ticket Price as 2025

The Rosarito Convention Center sits on Boulevard Benito Juárez, the city’s main coastal road, about two kilometers south of the landmark Rosarito Beach Hotel. Its garden area overlooks the Pacific and offers significantly more space than CEART, which hosted the first three editions of the festival. Organizers said the venue change was driven by rising attendance.

Tickets cost 1,200 pesos (approximately $60 USD at current exchange rates). That price includes tastings from all 25 wineries and food from all 25 participating chefs. Tickets are available through Ticketon, Mexico’s online ticketing platform, or directly from Rotary Club Rosarito members. There is no tiered pricing or VIP upgrade listed for this edition.

The culinary lineup draws on Baja California’s coastal kitchen. Previous editions featured seafood-forward small plates, tuna tostadas, and wood-fired dishes. The 25 chefs this year come from across the northern Baja corridor, though organizers have not yet published the full chef roster.

Live music acts announced so far include Hola Soy Lola, singer Maryam Malak, violinist José Enrique Tovar, and the group Nopal Che. The festival runs as a single afternoon and evening session on Friday, July 11.

Proceeds Fund Rotary Youth Projects in Rosarito

Rotary Club Rosarito, the organizing body, channels festival proceeds into youth-focused community programs. Rotary International chapters in Baja California fund projects ranging from scholarships to playground construction. The Rosarito chapter has used past Winefest revenue for local development work, though specific dollar amounts from previous years have not been disclosed publicly.

The charitable structure gives the event a different character from purely commercial wine festivals. Rotary members sell tickets directly, and the club handles logistics. This volunteer-driven model has kept the event running on a lean budget while still scaling up each year.

Getting There From Tijuana, Ensenada, or San Diego

The Rosarito Convention Center is about 25 minutes south of the San Ysidro border crossing via the toll road (Autopista Tijuana-Ensenada, with a toll of roughly 38 pesos). From Ensenada, the drive north takes about 45 minutes on the same highway. Parking at the Convention Center is free but limited during large events. Rideshare services, including Uber and Didi, operate in Rosarito, though wait times can spike after evening events.

July weather in Rosarito typically brings overcast mornings that clear by midday, with afternoon temperatures around 24°C (75°F). The garden setting is outdoors, so sunscreen and layers are worth packing.
