The ninth edition of Expo Mueble Baja California will take over the Baja California Center in Playas de Rosarito from July 31 through August 2, offering three days of furniture, design, and interior décor exhibitions with free admission. The event runs daily from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and is open to both trade professionals and the general public.

Organizers expect more than 8,000 visitors to browse over 80 exhibition spaces. Furniture manufacturers, designers, and suppliers from across multiple Mexican states will showcase their products. The Baja California Center sits along the Tijuana-Ensenada scenic road, about 20 minutes south of central Tijuana and easily accessible from the border.

Student Design Competition With 80,000-Peso Prize

Beyond the showroom floor, the expo will host the finals of the “Furniture Design Without Borders” competition. Fifteen student projects from three Baja California universities will compete: UABC (Universidad Autónoma de Baja California), Universidad Xochicalco, and the Tijuana Institute of Technology. The prize pool totals 80,000 pesos (roughly $4,000 USD).

Last year’s eighth edition, held in June 2025, featured 36 student submissions from public and private universities across the state. The 2026 competition narrows the field to 15 finalists. The expo has grown steadily since its launch, building on Rosarito’s furniture manufacturing base of roughly 100 companies that generate more than 13,000 local jobs.

Conferences, Pet-Friendly Policy, and Free Registration

A full conference schedule rounds out the program. Sessions will cover topics including design trends, exporting strategies, business models, interior design, and construction. Entry is free but requires prior online registration through the expo’s website at expomueblebc.com.

The event is also pet-friendly, a detail organizers promoted on the expo’s social media pages. Rosarito’s furniture industry has long catered to cross-border buyers from Southern California, and the expo draws both Mexican and international visitors looking for handcrafted and factory-direct pieces at lower prices than U.S. retail.
