The La Paz Classic Car Club will take over the Malecón boardwalk on July 25 for its 15th anniversary car show, with more than 250 vintage vehicles expected and all proceeds going to 14 municipal police officers currently battling cancer.

The event doubles as the club’s fifth national gathering, drawing classic car owners from across Baja California Sur. General admission is free. Organizers will charge only for seating near the live music stage, with donations going directly to officers’ medical expenses.

Live performances will run from 11 a.m. to midnight. The lineup features headline act Los Muecas, along with Grupo Ámbar and Grupo Latino. Club organizer Rodríguez said chairs will be available on site so attendees can enjoy the music while supporting the cause.

“There will be chairs on site so people can enjoy the show comfortably while supporting our police officers battling cancer with donations that will help cover their treatment expenses,” Rodríguez told reporters.

A Track Record of Direct Support

This is the third time the car show has been organized specifically to benefit police officers with cancer. Previous editions raised roughly 270,000 pesos (about $16,000 USD), distributed directly to officers for treatment costs. Organizers plan to distribute this year’s funds about one week after the event.

The La Paz Classic Car Club has 33 active members who run community activities year-round in neighborhoods and recreational areas across La Paz and the surrounding region. The club’s charitable focus has become a defining feature of the annual show.

Registration and Rules for Vehicle Owners

Classic car owners who want to participate can register for 300 to 400 pesos ($18 to $24 USD). Registration includes a commemorative T-shirt and access to a raffle. All vehicles must be at least 30 years old and original dealership models.

A welcome pre-event is scheduled for July 24 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the parking lot of Mi Plaza La Paz, located on Mariano Abasolo Street between Algodón and Bugambilias streets. Owners can pre-register and meet fellow collectors at that gathering.

The Malecón, La Paz’s iconic waterfront promenade, stretches about five kilometers along the bay and regularly hosts community events. Details about the show were first reported by Gringo Gazette.
