The Baja California Sur Institute of Culture (ISC) will bring its 2026 Book Fair to five communities across the Los Cabos municipality from May 18 through May 22. All events are free and open to the public.

The five-day fair will run simultaneously in San José del Cabo, Cabo San Lucas, Miraflores, La Ribera, and Santiago. Daily programming is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at each location.

Author Talks, Workshops, and Book Sales

The ISC has lined up author presentations, writing workshops, panel discussions, and reading mediation activities across all five sites. Books from the ISC’s own catalog and from independent publishers will be available for purchase at each venue.

By staging events in smaller communities like Miraflores, La Ribera, and Santiago, the fair reaches residents who live well outside the main tourist corridor. Miraflores sits about 30 minutes north of San José del Cabo along Highway 1. La Ribera is roughly 45 minutes east on the East Cape road, and Santiago lies in the foothills of the Sierra de la Laguna, about 50 minutes south of La Paz.

How to Get Schedule Details

The ISC has not yet published a full schedule listing specific authors or workshop topics for each community. Organizers are directing the public to the ISC and Librería ISC social media pages for updates as the fair approaches.

Residents can also call the ISC directly at 612-122-1116 on weekdays between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. for information. The institute, headquartered in La Paz, oversees cultural programming throughout Baja California Sur, including libraries, galleries, and literary events.

The fair’s five-day format and scattered locations make it accessible for people across the East Cape and southern Sierra region, not just those in the two Cabos. No registration is required to attend any of the events.
