The Los Cabos municipal government is backing two free classic vehicle events this month, organized by the Club de Trocas Clásicas Los Cabos. A vintage truck and vehicle exhibition takes place tonight, May 8, from 7 to 10 p.m. at the Don Koll Sports Complex parking lot in Cabo San Lucas. A second event, a classic truck cruise, is scheduled for May 17.
Tonight’s Free Exhibition at Don Koll
The May 8 show is open to the public at no cost. Organizers have set up the exhibition in the parking lot of the Don Koll Sports Complex, a well-known recreational facility in central Cabo San Lucas. The event runs three hours and is designed as a family-friendly evening outing.
The Club de Trocas Clásicas Los Cabos is a local group dedicated to the preservation and display of vintage trucks and vehicles. Tonight’s show will feature classic models on static display for attendees to view up close.
May 17 Cruise Spans the East Cape
The second event is a classic truck cruise on Saturday, May 17. Between 20 and 30 vehicles, all model year 1996 or older, will form a convoy that winds through several communities in the municipality of Los Cabos and beyond. The route passes through Santa Anita, Miraflores, Santiago, Los Barriles, El Triunfo, and Pescadero before looping back to Cabo San Lucas.
That route covers a significant stretch of the East Cape corridor along Highway 1 and the Camino Rural Costero. Drivers traveling between San José del Cabo and La Paz on May 17 should expect slow-moving classic vehicles on the road, along with possible traffic controls in each community along the way.
What to Know
Both events are free and open to the public. No registration or tickets are required for spectators. The municipal government of Los Cabos confirmed its support for both events through its official channels.
For those unfamiliar with the cruise route, Santiago and Los Barriles sit along the East Cape roughly 45 to 65 kilometers south of La Paz. El Triunfo is a former mining town about 48 kilometers south of La Paz on Highway 1. Pescadero is located on the Pacific side, approximately 65 kilometers north of Cabo San Lucas along Highway 19.
