Tijuana municipal police arrested a 39-year-old man wanted for premeditated homicide during a routine patrol early Tuesday morning, May 26, in the Campestre Murua neighborhood on the city’s east side.

Officers stopped the suspect, identified only by his first name Eduardo, near the Calimax Alamar store at the intersection of Rampa Azteca and Las Torres. After running his information through dispatch, they confirmed he had an active arrest warrant for premeditated homicide with advantage, a charge that under Mexican law indicates the killer exploited a significant physical or tactical edge over the victim.

Warrant Issued Days Before Arrest

The warrant had been issued by a judge just days before the arrest. Authorities have not disclosed details about the underlying homicide case, including when or where it occurred. Eduardo is originally from the state of Sonora.

Following the arrest, officers transferred Eduardo to the custody of the Fiscalía General del Estado (FGE), Baja California’s State Attorney General’s Office. He will be presented before the judge who issued the warrant.

A Busy Commercial Corridor

The Campestre Murua area sits along one of eastern Tijuana’s well-traveled commercial corridors near the Alamar district. The Calimax supermarket at the intersection of Rampa Azteca and Las Torres is a familiar landmark for residents of the surrounding colonias. The neighborhood is located roughly 20 minutes east of downtown Tijuana by car.

The arrest is part of a broader pattern of Tijuana municipal police acting on outstanding judicial warrants during routine patrols. Tijuana has long been one of Mexico’s most violent cities, and warrant enforcement remains a key tool for local law enforcement in clearing pending homicide cases.
