A 36-year-old Tijuana mother of three has been missing since the afternoon of Saturday, April 11, after leaving her home in the Villa Fontana neighborhood following a domestic argument. Her family is asking the public for help locating her.
Josefina Luján left without her cell phone and has not contacted her husband, José González, or their three children, ages 8, 10, and 13. The family filed a missing persons report with the Fiscalía General del Estado (FGE), Baja California’s state attorney general’s office.
Last Known Contact Was a Facebook Message
On the day she disappeared, a family member received a single Facebook message from Josefina. In it, she asked to speak with someone because she was feeling unwell. She has not responded to any messages since that brief contact.
Her husband told local media that it is completely out of character for Josefina to go this long without reaching out to her children. The family has spent three days searching for her and sharing her information online.
Physical Description and What She Was Wearing
Josefina is described as slim, approximately 5 feet 1 inch tall (1.56 meters), with brown skin, black eyes, and long wavy brown hair. When she was last seen, she was wearing blue leggings, sandals, and a black hoodie.
Villa Fontana is a residential neighborhood in eastern Tijuana, located near the Tijuana-Tecate highway. The area is densely populated and accessible by public transportation, though the family does not know whether Josefina left on foot or by other means.
How to Help
Anyone with information about Josefina Luján’s whereabouts can call (664) 683-9643, the emergency line 911, or the anonymous tip line 089. The family is urging Tijuana residents to share her photo widely on social media to increase the chances of locating her.
Missing persons cases remain a serious concern in Tijuana. Baja California’s FGE has an active missing persons unit, but families frequently rely on community networks and social media to generate leads. This story was first reported by Punto Norte.
