Colonia Morelos Sees Repeated Violence

Colonia Morelos, located in Ensenada’s central urban area east of the downtown core, has seen multiple fatal shootings in recent months. In November 2025, a man was gunned down on Calle Roble in the same neighborhood after the C5 emergency center received reports of gunfire at 7:55 p.m. Officers found that victim lying on the pavement with gunshot wounds.

An earlier homicide in Colonia Morelos was also recorded in October 2024, when another man was killed on a public street in the neighborhood.

No arrests have been announced in connection with Thursday’s shooting. The scene was cordoned off by municipal police while investigators from state authorities processed the evidence.
