A man was shot multiple times Saturday night as he walked out of a 7-Eleven convenience store on Javier Mina Street in Tijuana’s Colonia Mariano Matamoros neighborhood. He remains hospitalized in serious condition.
The attack occurred after dark on July 5 when unknown gunmen opened fire on the victim as he exited the store. The man fell on the sidewalk, where he was found by first responders suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Emergency Response and Investigation
Red Cross paramedics and firefighters arrived at the scene and provided emergency medical care before transporting the victim to a nearby hospital. Authorities have described his condition as critical.
Tijuana Municipal Police and members of the National Guard (Guardia Nacional) established a security perimeter around the 7-Eleven and the surrounding block. State prosecutors from the Fiscalía General del Estado (FGE), Baja California’s attorney general’s office, deployed forensic investigators to collect evidence, including shell casings and surveillance footage.
