The Baja California Attorney General’s Office (Fiscalía General del Estado, or FGE) is seeking the public’s help locating a 47-year-old man who disappeared from Ensenada’s Territorio Sur neighborhood on May 20, 2026.
Lucio Moisés Sánchez Hernández was last seen wearing black pants, a black jacket, and a red cap. Authorities described him as heavyset, approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, and weighing about 220 pounds. He has a shaved head, a mustache, light brown eyes, and a scar on one wrist.
How to Report Information
Anyone with information about Sánchez Hernández’s whereabouts can contact the FGE at (646) 152-25-00, extensions 2559 or 2560. Tips can also be reported through the national emergency number, 911.
The Territorio Sur neighborhood sits in Ensenada’s southern urban zone, a residential area roughly 10 minutes south of the city’s downtown tourist corridor along Avenida Reforma.
Third Missing Person Case in Ensenada This Month
Sánchez Hernández’s disappearance is the third active missing persons case reported in the Ensenada area during May 2026. Marlo Magaña was reported missing on May 18, and 17-year-old América Rimoldi disappeared on May 27. The three cases are separate investigations, according to the FGE.
The cluster of disappearances comes as Ensenada remains under heightened scrutiny over public safety. The city drew international attention in 2024 after three surfers, two Australian brothers and an American, were murdered during a camping trip south of the city.
Ensenada, located about 80 miles south of the U.S. border, is home to a sizable expat community and draws thousands of visitors each year from Southern California. Residents and visitors who spot Sánchez Hernández or have any relevant information are encouraged to contact authorities immediately.
