Rancho Casian, Tijuana’s storied rodeo venue on the Tijuana-Rosarito highway, will hold the third date of its 2026 rodeo season this Sunday, June 21. The event doubles as a Father’s Day celebration and falls during the ranch’s 20th anniversary year.
Top regional competitors will face off in classic rodeo disciplines including bull riding and saddle bronc riding. The ranch, located at kilometer 22 of the Carretera Tijuana-Rosarito in the Cueros de Venado area, has billed itself as “La Casa del Rodeo” and draws crowds from both sides of the border.
A Full 2026 Season at La Casa del Rodeo
Sunday’s event marks the third stop on a packed rodeo calendar at the ranch. The season’s first event, the “Rodeo & Grill Fest,” took place on March 22 in collaboration with Live Fire MX and Del Rancho del Tío, combining rodeo competition with a premium meat grilling experience. A “Super Bull” event followed on June 6, featuring bull riding and barrel racing.
Rancho Casian traces its roots to 1931, though 2026 marks 20 years for the venue in its current form. The property operates year-round as a horse boarding facility, riding school, and event space with a pool and banquet hall, but the rodeo season is its main draw.
What to Expect on Father’s Day
The Father’s Day timing is no accident. Rancho Casian has a tradition of scheduling rodeo dates around family holidays. Last year, the venue hosted a similar “Rodeo Muy Padre” event on June 15 that combined rodeo action with live music.
American-style rodeo has deep roots in northern Baja California, where ranching culture along the coast south of Tijuana predates the border itself. For visitors coming from San Diego, the venue is roughly a 30-minute drive south of the San Ysidro border crossing, just off the toll road toward Rosarito.
Events at Rancho Casian typically begin in the early afternoon. Tickets and reservations are available through the venue’s official website and social media pages, which list a following of more than 124,000 on Facebook.
The rodeo season schedule was first reported by Zeta Tijuana.
