Families enrolled in the Los Cabos municipal student scholarship program have until April 17 to collect their payments, the city government announced. Juana Ortiz Cruz, director of the Municipal Education Office (Dirección Municipal de Educación) under the XV Ayuntamiento de Los Cabos, confirmed that no extension will be granted past the deadline.

Payments will be distributed from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at multiple locations across the municipality. In San José del Cabo, the main collection point is the Municipal Education Office in the Guaymitas neighborhood, located on Calle Mezquite at Plaza Rosarito, Edificio Pericue, units 9 and 10.

Collection Points Across the Municipality

Families in Cabo San Lucas, Miraflores, Santiago, and La Ribera can pick up payments at their local Education Coordination offices. The program covers students at all levels, from primary school through university.

Documentation requirements vary by grade level. Parents or guardians of primary school students must bring three copies of a valid school ID or enrollment certificate with photo, along with the parent or guardian’s official government ID. For secondary, preparatory (high school), and university students, only two copies of the school ID or enrollment certificate are required, plus the guardian’s ID.

Part of an Ongoing Municipal Support Program

The scholarship program is administered by the city’s General Directorate of Social Development (Dirección General de Desarrollo Social) in coordination with the Municipal Education Office. Payments are distributed on a bimonthly basis to enrolled families throughout the school year. A previous round of payments for the September to October period was distributed in late March at locations including the Auditorio Municipal “Leonardo Gastélum Villalobos” in Cabo San Lucas.

Ortiz Cruz urged all beneficiary families to collect their payments before the April 17 cutoff. The program is designed to help cover educational costs and support continued school attendance for children and young adults in Los Cabos.
