Baja California Sur’s National Employment Service (SNE-BCS) will hold a summer job fair in Loreto this Friday, July 10, with more than 70 positions available across several industries. The event runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Parque Panamá in the INVI Miramar neighborhood.
Employers from the hotel, retail, supermarket, and financial services sectors will be recruiting on-site. The fair comes as Loreto’s hospitality industry gears up for the busy summer travel season, when demand for workers at hotels, restaurants, and shops typically rises.
Government Agencies to Offer Free Services
Several government agencies will also set up information booths at the fair. DIF Municipal, the local family services agency, will attend alongside ICATEBCS (the state job training institute) and PROFEDET, the federal labor rights advocacy office. Mexico’s Secretariat of Wellbeing will provide details on social programs.
These agencies plan to offer free guidance on worker protections, vocational training, and government assistance programs. Their presence gives attendees access to multiple services in a single visit.
Who Can Attend and What to Bring
The job fair is open to anyone 18 or older. Attendees should bring a government-issued photo ID and a résumé or completed job application form. No pre-registration has been announced, and the event is free.
Loreto, a small coastal city of roughly 20,000 residents on the Sea of Cortez, sits about 350 kilometers north of La Paz. Its economy relies heavily on tourism, fishing, and related services.
