Cold Front No. 46 will stall along Mexico’s northern border this weekend, bringing light rain, gusty winds, and cooler temperatures to Tijuana on Saturday and Sunday, April 25 and 26.
Mexico’s National Meteorological Service (SMN) forecasts isolated rainfall of 0.1 to 5 millimeters across Baja California. Winds will range from 20 to 30 km/h (12 to 19 mph), with gusts reaching up to 60 km/h (37 mph). Possible dust storms may accompany the strongest gusts.
Temperatures Drop Through the Weekend
Daytime highs in Tijuana will fall to around 19°C (66°F) on both Saturday and Sunday. Overnight lows will dip to 12 to 14°C (54 to 57°F) in the city. AccuWeather’s forecast for Saturday aligns closely, calling for a high of 64°F and an afternoon shower followed by occasional rain in the evening.
Mountain zones across Baja California face harsher conditions. Freezing temperatures and early morning frost are expected at higher elevations through Sunday.
What to Expect on the Ground
The rainfall totals are minor, and no flooding risk has been indicated for Tijuana proper. Still, the combination of wind gusts and partial cloud cover will shape outdoor plans across the city. Anyone heading to Parque Morelos for the K-Pop concert on Friday evening, April 25, should prepare for breezy, cooler conditions.
For context, Tijuana’s typical late April highs sit closer to 22°C (72°F). The dip to 19°C represents a noticeable but not dramatic shift. The cold front is expected to move off the region by early next week, with temperatures returning to seasonal norms.
Baja California Sur Also Affected
The front’s effects extend beyond northern Baja. The Ironman 70.3 race in Los Cabos is also scheduled for this weekend. While conditions in Baja California Sur tend to be warmer, participants and spectators should monitor local forecasts for any wind or cloud cover changes tied to the same system.
