Baja California’s mobile health caravans will offer free medical services in San Quintín and San Felipe from Tuesday, April 21 through Saturday, April 25. The state’s mobile health centers (Centros de Salud Móviles) will operate daily from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at locations in both towns, targeting communities with limited access to routine medical care.

Where to Find the Clinics

In San Quintín, the mobile clinic will be stationed at the Cancha de Futbol Popular San Quintín on Galeana 107 in the Popular San Quintín neighborhood of Lázaro Cárdenas (postal code 22940). A second San Quintín location is at the Secundaria Técnica No. 10 ETA soccer field on the Transpeninsular Highway in the Nuevo Baja California area.

In San Felipe, the caravan will set up at the Unidad Deportiva San Felipe on Calzada Chetumal 11 (postal code 21850). That location will also run from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily through Saturday.

A third location this week is in El Maneadero, south of Ensenada, at the Campo de Futbol Javier Calderón Marín on Rodolfo Sánchez Taboada in the Parte Baja neighborhood (postal code 22790). Hours there are the same: 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Services and Purpose

Baja California Health Secretary Adrián Medina Amarillas said the program prioritizes residents in vulnerable communities. The caravans provide free medical checkups and early disease screening. No appointment is required.

San Quintín, located about 300 kilometers (186 miles) south of Tijuana along Highway 1, is home to a large agricultural workforce. Many farmworkers and their families in the region lack regular access to clinics. San Felipe, on the Sea of Cortez about 200 kilometers (124 miles) south of Mexicali, has a mix of fishing families, seasonal residents, and retirees spread across a wide area with limited public health infrastructure.

The mobile caravan program rotates through underserved communities across Baja California on a weekly basis. Each stop typically offers general consultations, preventive screenings, and basic lab work at no cost to patients.
