The Universidad Autónoma de Baja California Sur (UABCS) will host its 10th annual Coloquio Universitario del Libro Sudcaliforniano from April 14 through 17 at the Poliforo Cultural Universitario in La Paz, with additional events in Los Cabos. The free, public literary gathering features book presentations, panel discussions, and book sales timed to coincide with World Book and Copyright Day on April 23.

UABCS and the Instituto Sudcaliforniano de Cultura are co-organizing the four-day event. This year’s colloquium pays tribute to Baja California Sur writer Javier Manríquez. Two student academic events will run alongside the main program: the IX Student Literature Colloquium and the second Humanities Student Colloquium.

That issue is titled “Baja California Sur: Medio siglo con alma universitaria,” marking the university’s 50th anniversary.
